Appearance: Short, messy black hair and dark blue eyes. He tries to emulate foreigners by wearing similar clothing to what they wear. He had already gotten rid of his clan’s traditional clothing before leaving on his journey, all so that he could do so.
Backstory: Once a child becomes 21 years of age, they are sent out into the world to find both a master and a spouse. Until they find both, and learn all that the master can teach them, they are not allowed to return home. Ling Mei has finally turned 21, and he now begins his clan’s custom. He set off into the world with naught but a katana, padded armor, and a backpack filled with food and water to live off of. He wandered for a couple years before finally ending up on the Sword Coast. He had a hard time finding somebody who he could call his master, and eventually decided to join up with a couple other people on an adventure. Maybe one of them could teach him something. After joining them, he acquired an Explorer’s pack.
Personality: Sometimes is too eager to get into a fight, but can clearly see when he is outmatched due to the extensive training he’s gone through. Inside of battle, he becomes unnaturally calm, focusing only on the battle at hand. Outside of battle, he can be known to be energetic most of the time, and sometimes refers to others by odd nicknames. He is known to not be very serious unless trouble is brewing. He also has a fascination with cultures much unlike his own, and attempts to learn about them as much as he can.
Other bits of information: He has the ability to use bows, although he didn’t bring one with him for whatever reason. During his training with fighting, he pretty much taught himself how to play the string instruments he had around the house. After he had gotten pretty good at just one kind of string instrument, one of his family members began teaching him how to play others. Because of that, he became an expert at a good amount of different kinds of string instruments.
